A story from the fire ravaged South Coast of NSW.
Early in 2020 I was commissioned by large Australian steel producer to shoot the bushfire-safe build of Canberra based architect Alistair Falconer. This shoot started with a 10km drive on a dirt road into some of the worst affected bush lands from the NSW 2019 fires. On arrival to the work in progress build I was greeted by the Falconer family and their two young daughters speaking to me in Spanish. I shot for a couple of hours of the morning and headed back along the 10km dirt road. I was surprised by the remarkable resilience of the build to withstand the immense heat and thankful the bush was coming back to life with new green growth that brought with it a hope for the region. A very meaningful shoot for me.
